Locking out the 175-pound snatch at the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games, Brooke Wells sensed something was off. Her elbow felt a little unstable.

Maybe it was because the pegboard event she did before lit her elbows up she thought, or maybe, it was nothing to worry about.

Wells quickly brushed it off. After all, this was the CrossFit Games, and she had a great chance of being in the top three on a max snatch event. Moments later, Wells hit 180 pounds on her second snatch attempt and then made 185 look easy, securing herself a top 10 finish in the process.

What happened next still feels like yesterday, she said.
