Trista Smith Conquers Childhood Dream Under Tutelage of Justin Medeiros and Adam Neiffer

Sixteen-year-old Trista Smith has had her eyes on one goal since the ripe age of 10 years old: to become a CrossFit Games athlete.
But having grown up in the CrossFit world–her parents met at a powerlifting meet and opened Fallout CrossFit when Smith was around four-years-old–a ticket to Madison seemed out of reach for Smith. With admittedly little confidence and bare-minimum workout strategies, Smith missed Games qualification by five spots in the 14-15 Girls division in 2020.
But that lit a fire under her, and she brought the fire to the Games competition floor in 2021.

Even with a fourth-place finish under her belt in her debut Games appearance, Smith wasn’t quite satisfied. Smith placed 15th in the swim event, a bottom-half finish in the max snatch event, and still struggled with confidence on the field. But with the holes in her game identified, Smith tapped a nearby resource to improve her performance for the 2022 season: CrossFit Fort Vancouver, Justin Medeiros, and coach Adam Neiffer.
