Saturday moving day started off with a swim and ski erg event—Rinse ‘N’ Repeat—that proved to be won or lost on the Ski Erg in the final two rounds.

During the first six rounds, it looked as though the usual suspects—Tia-Clair Toomey and Mal O’Brien—would finish at the top again, but then in the final two max calorie Ski Erg rounds, it was rookie Lucy Campbell who crushed it, logging 137 total calories, three calories more than second place finisher Amanda Barnhart.

In the end, Toomey finished fourth overall on the event, while O’Brien placed seventh, allowing Toomey to extend her lead over the 18-year-old challenger to 53 points.

Worth Noting: Emma Lawson, who has been sitting in a podium position all weekend, entered the day just three points behind O’Brien, but she had her lowest placing all week—17th. The 17-year-old is still in third overall, but she now trails O’Brien by 33 points, and has Haley Adams, who was sixth on the swim event, inching closer. Adams is now just 12 points behind Lawson heading into Event 9.
