When training isn’t going as planned, how do you refrain from getting discouraged and stay invested in the process?

Particularly for newer athletes, it’s very common to hit a PR every time you re-attempt a 1-rep max. As you’re getting accustomed to the movement and improving your technique and body awareness, it can be expected to see significant improvements rather quickly. That is, until you become more proficient, reach a ceiling, and make much more incremental gains over time; the common experience of seasoned or elite competitors.

As the first female weightlifting coach at the Olympics, lifting coach to the first female CrossFit Games winner (Jolie Gentry) and head of HWPO’s new LIFT program, Aimee Anaya Everett has a wealth of experience helping athletes reach their full potential both on and off of the platform.
