Sometimes workouts come up that might be perceived by coaches and athletes alike to be a bit on the boring side. But it is also these workouts that often have a ton to unravel in regards  to mindset, or the subtle differences between uncomfortable yet sustainable pacing across various modalities you will find in CrossFit.

Coaches have incredibly high potential to influence both individual and communal health but to do so, they must evolve their approach and go “beyond the whiteboard”.

Using a recent workout from one of our “Performance” classes as an example, here is how a coach can ‘go beyond the whiteboard’ by using the rest periods in one of those seemingly boring workouts as an opportunity to bring awareness to their casual group programming athletes and coaching them on how to figure out if something is sustainable versus unsustainable – teaching them how to find their upper and lower limits.

Gyms are a dime-a-dozen. It’s not just what you do as coaches that differentiates your service, it’s how you do it and how you make your members feel. Coaching ‘beyond the whiteboard’ is just one example of this.

If you are a coach looking to hone the craft of professional health and performance coaching or are a gym owner interested in running a successful and fulfilling fitness business, we want to work with you.
