How (and Why) to Turn Your Gym into an Integrative Wellness Center with Dr. Christina Migliara

Constantly varied functional movements done at a high intensity: It’s what drew thousands to open CrossFit affiliates. Because they knew how powerful that formula was for changing lives.
- But once up and running, it becomes obvious that it isn’t quite that simple. On top of fitness coaching, when it comes to overall health, many people also require help from a nutrition coach, or a mental health coach, or maybe a physical therapist or chiropractor.
This focus on overall health has led some to either add other health practitioners in various fields to their team at their gym, or even to run their gym into a full-blown wellness center, like the Ryan Ferns Healthplex in Kenwood, VI and EHP Performance in Moorhead, MN.
In fact, turning a gym into some semblance of an all-encompassing health center that offers collaborative and integrative care to their clients has become the dream of many, but executing on the task is a little bit more challenging to navigate.
- So we sat down with Dr. Christina Migliara, a licensed mental health professional of 20 years, a CrossFit Level 2 coach and the owner of CrossFit Tailwinds in Jacksonville, FL, a wellness center gym that offers a full scope of health care.
