How Strong Do You Have To Be To Make The CrossFit Games?

Among the three main disciplines in CrossFit (strength, endurance, gymnastics) strength is perhaps regarded as the single most important of them all, and absolutely the hardest to master.

As Ben Bergeron has said, “If you’re not strong enough, you can’t play.” 

This is referring to the fact that some events at all stages of the CrossFit season require such high levels of strength, that you can’t physically qualify or compete if you don’t possess them.

So, what are these exact levels of strength? We break them down below by looking at:

  • The recent snatch test at Semifinals
  • The entry requirements into elite training programs (HWPO Pro)

But before we dive into those, it’s important to note that top-end strength is not just needed to qualify, but the stats show that you must be among the top 10 strongest in the field in order to win the CrossFit Games as well.
