After leading the entire competition, Roman Khrennikov seems to have injured his foot on Test 10 and was seen in a wheelchair, his foot wrapped, after the test.

Though unconfirmed, it’s suspected that he has broken a bone and torn ligaments in his left foot.

Nevertheless, we’re being told the Russian, who was tended to by medical staff after the test, will continue to compete, despite Test 11 requiring athletes to do eight rounds of 30 double-unders with a heavy rope. Whether he will even be able to do a double-under is anyone’s guess, but CrossFit LLC. confirmed there’s no minimum work requirement.

The big picture: Khrennikov still placed fourth of Test 10, dropping him to second overall for the first time all weekend, as Jeff Adler took the test win and now leads Khrennikov by two points heading into Test 11.

Khrennokov still has a 109-point lead over third, so it’s quite possible that even with a bad foot, he could finish on the podium.

If he finishes last in the final two events, he will end with 801 and 7th place overall.
