2024 CrossFit Games Demo Team Announced — Get to Know the Members

2024 CrossFit Games Demo Team

Yesterday, the CrossFit Games revealed the 2024 Demo Team.

An annual summer ritual, sometimes a few days before and sometimes a few weeks before the start of Games week, CrossFit reveals “a team of experienced CrossFit athletes…selected to demonstrate each event at the CrossFit Games to the field of athletes.”

  • The group of six (sometimes more or less) will test workouts before (and during) the Games to give general manager of sport Dave Castro and other organizers a realistic run-through at full speed.
  • For example, when rain delayed 2022’s “Alpaca” event, it was the Demo Team who came out to the field to test equipment and help determine the next steps, which ultimately involved removing the rope climbs.

The 18th CrossFit Games will take place August 8-11 at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX, for the first time in the event’s history. Learn more about the Demo Team below.

2024 CrossFit Games Demo Team Members

  • Scott Tetlow (Team Captain) – Tetlow qualified for the Games in 2020, placing 17th in the two-part, COVID-affected finals. He has also competed at Semifinals in 2021, 2022, and 2023. At the 2022 Rogue Invitational, he also placed 17th.
  • Tudor Magda – He won the 2018 Boys 14-15 division at the CrossFit Games and has competed there four times total. He competed in the Individual Division for the first time at 19 years old in 2022, placing 34th.
  • Colten Mertens Mertens is a fan favorite and a four-time Games qualifier in both the Team and Individual divisions. His top finish so far as an Individual was 18th in 2023. He thrilled fans at the 2024 North America West Semifinal, winning the Event 5 snatch ladder with a surprising touch-and-go rep on the final barbell.
  • Sydney Wells – She has competed at Semifinals three times and qualified for the Games once. In the final year in Madison, she placed 28th. Wells was also a Division 1 track athlete.
  • Trista Smith – Smith has competed twice at Semifinals and three times at the Games in the Teen division. In 2023, she took second place in the Girls 16-17 division.
  • Anikha GreerGreer has competed at Semifinals three times and has missed qualifying for the Games in a heartbreaking fashion more than once. She qualified for the Games as a teen in 2020, but COVID ended the Teen Games season early.
