The Field Is Set for the 2025 Rogue Invitational – No Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr

The wait is over. The roster for the seventh annual Rogue Invitational is locked, and for the second time since 2019, the competition won’t include the sport’s most dominant athlete: Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr.
In a message to the Morning Chalk Up, Toomey-Orr said: “Unfortunately, I won’t be taking the floor as an individual this year at the Rogue Invitational as I have decided to enjoy some quality family time.”
- “I will definitely miss being out there alongside such incredible athletes and my fellow PRVN crew, but will definitely be following along closely and cheering them on every workout,” the Aussie legend continued.
Taking place at the P&J Live Arena in Aberdeen, Scotland, from October 31 to November 2, this year’s Invitational features 20 men and 20 women — 18 invitees and two qualifiers in each division — making it one of the most exclusive lineups in the sport.
- With over $1.5 million in the prize purse currently, it remains the richest competition outside the CrossFit Games.
The storylines are clear: Can defending Rogue champion Jeff Adler hold off the newly crowned Fittest on Earth, Jayson Hopper? And on the women’s side, can Laura Horvath reclaim Rogue glory after her recent WFP Tour Stop win, or will one of the other top competitors like Danielle Brandon, Alex Gazan, or Emma Lawson steal the spotlight?
The Invitational has always been known for its intense programming, huge prize pool, and career-defining moments. This year, with fewer qualifying spots, a stacked international lineup, and one notable absence, the 2025 Rogue Invitational promises to be one of the most unpredictable yet.
Key Takeaways:
- Eight-time Fittest on Earth and four-time Rogue Invitational champion Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr is not among the invitees.
- Laura Horvath took home the victory when Toomey-Orr didn’t compete at the 2022 Rogue after winning the CrossFit Games.
- Two athletes in each division earned their roster spots from “The Q” this year, down from five in previous years.
- The 2024 Rogue Invitational champion, Jeffrey Adler, is ranked number one in the Rogue Points System ahead of current CrossFit Games Fittest on Earth, Jayson Hopper.
The Athletes
Eighteen men and 18 women were invited to the competition this year, leaving two spots in each division for “The Q,” Rogue’s yearly qualifier for the Rogue Invitational.
- In previous years, Rogue invited five men and five women from the Q, along with 15 of the top-ranked CrossFit athletes, based on their rankings and the invitation process.
Those invitations are typically extended to the CrossFit Games podium winners, along with other notable names from the season.
Women
Laura Horvath, a two-time Rogue Invitational Champion and 2023 CrossFit Games Champion, was the last woman invited when everything was finalized.
- That leaves one G.O.A.T-sized absence: the eight-time Fittest on Earth and four-time Rogue Invitational champion, Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr, was not among the announced invites.
Since 2019, Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr has competed in and won the CrossFit Games six times; in five of those years, she also secured victory at the Rogue Invitational. For three consecutive years (2019 to 2021), Toomey-Orr achieved first-place finishes at both the Games and the Rogue Invitational.
- Toomey-Orr did not compete at the 2022 Rogue Invitational after winning that year’s CrossFit Games, leaving the door open for Horvath to top second-place finisher Annie Thorisdottir for the overall victory.
Since then, she and Horvath have traded places on the Rogue podium.
- In 2023, Horvath narrowly won by 10 points over Toomey-Orr, 780 to 770, in the G.O.A.T.’s only in-person competition that year. That same year, Toomey-Orr missed the Games season after giving birth to her daughter, Willow.
In 2024, Toomey-Orr won the Rogue by 60 points over Horvath, clinching her fourth victory at the event.
Horvath did not compete in the 2025 CrossFit Games season; however, she did participate in the inaugural World Fitness Project (WFP) season.
Horvath won the latest WFP Tour Stop in Mesa, AZ, against 13 of the same athletes she will face in the 20-athlete Rogue field. She is currently second overall on the WFP season leaderboard behind first-place Aimee Cringle.
- Worth noting: Cringle declined her invitation to the 2025 Rogue Invitational. In a message to the Morning Chalk Up, Cringle said, “I declined my invite as there’s been quite a few comps this year and l’ve got a few niggles that l’ve had for a while now. I want to sort so I can get ready for the final WFP. Longevity is the goal! So hopefully next year for Rogue!”

Men
The final invitation on the men’s side went to 2024 Rogue Invitational Champion Jeffrey Adler, the top-ranked athlete in the Rogue Points System.
Adler is 920 points ahead of the second-place athlete and current CrossFit Games champ, Jayson Hopper.
- Remind Me: The Rogue Point System is based on the results of the past three calendar years, including the Rogue Invitational, CrossFit Games, Open, Quarterfinals, Semifinals (formerly Sanctionals), TYR Wodapalooza, and the World Fitness Project, with a range of available points based on finishes at each competition.
The points gap between the 2024 Rogue Champ and the 2025 Games Champ has narrowed over the past year, with Hopper earning 1,716.05 points and Adler accumulating 1,162.85 so far for the 2025 competitions.
Most of these points come from the 1,100 points awarded to the first-place finisher at this year’s CrossFit Games. However, the World Fitness Project also influences the scores, as Adler only received 10.29 points for his 4th place at WFP Tour Stop I in Indianapolis. In contrast, Hopper earned 267.46 points for his 3rd place in Indy and 8th place at WFP Tour Stop II in Mesa.

What’s At Stake?
The current Rogue Invitational Athlete Fund sits at just over $1.54 million, and both the men’s and women’s champions stand to win $228,183.52 each. However, that amount will likely grow as the competition approaches.
- The true total prize pool and finalized winnings are based on multiple factors, including $1 million from Rogue, a bitcoin investment, and a percentage of Invitational ticket sales, Invitational T-shirt sales, GoRuck shoe sales on RogueFitness.com, and qualifier and community event registration fees.
