Hidden Camera Found in the Restroom of CrossFit 806
The story.
On August 17th, a hidden camera was discovered in the restroom of CrossFit 806 at their Amarillo, TX location. CrossFit 806 also has a second location in Borger, TX.
Dang it.
Allegedly, the camera was planted by a former employee and no arrests have been made yet. But according to Amarillo Police Department Sergeant Carla Burr, an invasion of privacy of this kind can carry a harsh punishment. “If they were recording someone who was naked, it is a state felony,” said Sgt. Burr.
Owner Kyle Cato said that he is fully cooperating with and assisting the investigation and added that he had been advised to make no further statement at this time.
Haven’t we heard this before?
Sadly yes. This is actually the third time we’ve reported a story like this. In April, a member at CrossFit Switch discovered a hidden camera in the women’s restroom placed there by the owner. And in June, a member of Rockingham CrossFit discovered a hidden camera, planted by another member.
SMH. Why is this still a thing?
Seriously. Just stop. Gym owners can and should regularly check their restrooms for anything new and suspicious in there. And members should too, apparently every dang time.
