How Your Box Can Get Involved When Battle Cancer Comes to the States
Battle Cancer has been busy. Last May, they toured Los Angeles for 20 days, dropping in at boxes to WOD and raise funds for the American Cancer Society before the main Battle Cancer LA event. Just last month, Battle Cancer London took place with almost 1400 athletes and 2,500 spectators and a Battle Cancer team competed in the Elite divisions at CrossFit Filthy 150 over the weekend.
And now they’re coming back to the States, launching their 2020 Battle Cancer campaign from Wodapalooza then Houston, San Diego, Los Angeles, and finishing in San Francisco.
How you can help.
Attend Wodapalooza with the Battle Cancer Lift for Life challenge. Participants can donate $5 to lift some weights to try and accumulate 609,000 KG — that’s 1342615 pounds — spread across the event, representing one KG for every life lost in the US each year to cancer.
After Wodapalooza, the 2020 Battle Cancer tour hits the road, taking on two fundraising class takeovers each day in boxes in the area. If you’d like your box to be one of the affiliates Battle Cancer takes over, reach out and let them know. Having Battle Cancer in your box is easy. Because each 45-minute long class is designed for total beginners, there’s a ton of fun but no equipment and a fully insured and trained staff.
Where they’ll be.
- Miami: February 25 – February 29
- Houston: March 3 – March 7
- San Diego: March 10 – 14
- Los Angeles: March 16 – March 21
- San Francisco: March 23 – March 27
Lastly, you can keep an eye out for Battle Cancer to return in the summer for their Invictus competition tour, kicking off at Invictus’s downtown San Diego location June 20 with a second competition a week later at Invictus Boston, June 27. Battle Cancer and Invictus will use their partnership to raise awareness and funds for cancer charities across the United States to help foster their shared commitment to giving back to the community.
