We're proud to announce the placement prizes in the Elite Division. We're extremely grateful to our partners and sponsors, for them making us able to present the largest prize pool at a Danish competition in CrossFit or functional fitness, ever. And this is just the placement prizes in the Elite Division! Placement prizes in the Community Division, lottery prizes in the Community Division (and a few across), workout winner prizes (across divisions) are yet to be presented to you. Also remember that the battle to be the box or functional fitness community with the most sign-ups, is still ongoing for week 2 and 3 – whilst the total sign-up rewards have not been announced yet. Being amongst the 3 boxes/communities with the most total sign-ups will be more than worthwhile. Just ask our friends @fitnessengros — It is important for us to not just reward the podium finishers, but also to recognize the fitness it takes to finish well outside the podium. As a sports federation, we're invested in the development of athletes on all levels. This also includes aiding the absolute elite in Denmark in being able to focus on their sport. That is why, we're looking forward to seeing @511tactical_int enter into athlete sponsorship negotiations (for one year initially) with the Fittest Man and Fittest Woman of Denmark after the DFFC is over. Of course, a sponsorship actually being awarded is contingent on successful negotiations – but sponsorship negotiations is a natural part of being an elite athlete. — A huge shout out to the sponsors and partners providing these prizes to the Elite athletes: @gowod_mobilityfirst @virusintl @rxdevents @jollycolaoriginal @wodproofapp @511tactical_int @theprogrm @noccodanmark @puorilife @viruscph — 📸: @_anders.r.riis of the podium athletes @ City Hall Throwdown 2019 organized by @rxdevents #crossfit #cf #training #træning #ffd #dffc2020 #dffc #danishcrossfitcommunity #fittestindenmark #dm #prizes #athlete #competition #støtdemderstøttersporten #danishcrossfitcommunity #fitness #fitnessfortime #functionalfitness #funktionelfitness

Why it matters: After a tough year for the functional fitness community around the world, the Danish Functional Fitness championships gives athletes of all levels from the Danish CrossFit community the opportunity to showcase their fitness even if the competition cannot be held in person.

  • “I wanted to give something back to the Danish CrossFit community. And this is it,” Nikolaj Rønnow, Event Director
  • Athletes of all levels are invited to partner with their favorite workout buddy and throw down each week for the opportunity to win prizes and bragging rights from a number of sponsors in the community division.
  • It’s events like these including community-based divisions that will keep growing the sport of fitness beyond the elite divisions.

The bottom line: Even during these unprecedented times, the fitness community continues to come together in unconventional ways. We saw it last weekend at the 2020 CrossFit games, which drew more than 11 million viewers to the live stream and we will continue to see it moving forward as the fitness community moves into the 2021 season.
