Sibling Rivalry: The 2021 CrossFit Semifinals Will Be a Family Affair For Some

The Individual Quarterfinals are over, and CrossFit athletes are preparing for the next part of the season -- Semifinals. This final step is the only hurdle remaining between them and a spot at the CrossFit Games, and there will be several family members trying to reach Madison together.

Why this matters: Having athletes from the same family compete at Regionals or the CrossFit Games is nothing new. The Anderson brothers -- Alex, Jacob, and ZA -- are members of the “fittest family” after multiple Games appearances. Jacob and Alex competed together in 2016 while ZA competed in 2013. Their father, Steve, won the Masters 55-59 division in 2011. The 2021 season, however, features a wider variety of related high-level athletes that could compete together on the biggest stage.
