WODProof’s AI Update Bionic Introduces New Motion Analysis Technology

WODProof launched a new program to help Pro members improve their mobility and range of motion while becoming better overall athletes. WODProof Bionic tracks and analyzes movement in real time with the goal of providing unique mobility plans for each user.
The details: Bionic uses the WODProof app and the camera on mobile devices to assess mobility through a series of seven tests. Bionic recognizes each joint and compares the positions to a Gold Standard, which WODProof based on CrossFit Games competitor Thuri Helgadottir.
- Bionic will take this information and create a personalized plan for each user to improve their mobility and range of motion. There will also be check-ins every 30 days to track progress.
- WODProof Bionic began development after a Tel Aviv-based tech company, Sency, acquired WODProof. The AI technology provided the opportunity to track and analyze movements during workouts. There is no estimate about range of motion. The angles provide exact details to make the plan more accurate.
- WODProof spent seven months perfecting the technology after the acquisition instead of immediately launching Bionic. The company learned from millions of data points and focused on creating the best tests to examine mobility.
WODProof Bionic is only available to Pro members of the WODProof app. Users can activate a free trial in order to test their mobility and range of motion for free, but they will need to subscribe for $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.
Adam Grinker, Founder and CEO of WODProof: “Athletes no longer need to navigate and pay subscriptions to so many platforms. WODProof is now positioned as a super premium product that makes our PRO members use it as they are ‘wearing a Bionic fitness suit’ including everything they need to become better than ever before, not just as a slogan.”
Grinker actually teased this release back in March 2021: “If I can give you a small hint, I can say that WODProof is now the go-to tool of most of the CrossFit community athletes,” Grinker told the Morning Chalk Up at the time. “In 2021, WODProof will be the most efficient and powerful tool for the everyday routine. It won’t only be for workouts.”
The bottom line: WODProof already offered a robust assortment of workout programs for Pro members, ranging from specific rowing courses to at-home fitness and weightlifting options. The integration with Concept2 machines and the timer overlays for recorded videos made the app the go-to place for the CrossFit Open and other competitions. Adding in the personalized mobility plans through Bionic only removed the need for multiple subscriptions and extra fitness apps.
