CrossFit Reykjavik Sweeps Day 1 of 2022 Lowlands Throwdown

Day one of the CrossFit Lowlands Throwdown has come to an end for the teams, and one is atop the leaderboard to the surprise of no one. CrossFit Reykjavik holds the top spot with 200 points after a dominant day of competition.
The details: CrossFit Reykjavik took on two events to kick off Semifinals. Event 1 was a combination of thrusters (40, 30, 20) and legless rope climbs (6, 4, 2) with the female athletes taking the competition floor first and the male athletes following.
- Lauren Fisher took the first shift on the thrusters before Annie Thorisdottir took over. They moved through the reps quickly and cleanly before taking the lead on the legless rope climbs, and they continued to build with smooth transitions and no mistakes.
- Tola Morakinyo and Khan Porter pushed the advantage once they hit the floor. They put even more distance between themselves and CrossFit Oslo Purple Red, ultimately finishing at 10:45.85 and beating the previous top time by nearly four minutes.
The domination continued during Event 2, which consisted of a 5,000-meter row split up with a sandbag carry relay. The team posted a total time of 17:39.88 while CrossFit Portti finished second with a time of 17:47.26.
What’s next: The competition will continue for CrossFit Reykjavik with two more events on the second day, which includes one built for all four members of the team. Event 4 is a snatch ladder, and it will likely provide CrossFit Reykjavik with another opportunity to build upon its advantage.
