We’ve all experienced it, you’re in a rush to get somewhere and your Uber either comes late or even worse they cancel on you. That’s exactly what happened to Uldis Upenieks on Friday during the first day of competition at the Lowlands Throwdown Semifinal in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

A break in the action: The men had approximately an hour break between event 1 and 2, giving the 24-year old Latvian what he thought was enough time to head back to his hotel to eat and relax a little bit. Feeling good after an 8th place finish in the opening workout, the “2014 Regional Event 5”, Upenieks was able to relax a bit before ordering an Uber to take him back to RAI Amsterdam, the location of the Semifinal.

What he didn’t expect was that his Uber would be stuck in traffic and then would eventually cancel their ride with him, leaving him without many options as the report time for his heat in event two as it drew closer and closer.
