Meg Reardon Partners with Blitz Belts for Exclusive Pride Month Drop

Two-times CrossFit Games athlete. Instagram influencer. Business owner. Wife. LGBTQ+ activist.
Meg Lewis-Reardon wears a lot of hats.
As of this week there is a new one to add to the list: Weight belt designer.
In honor of Pride month, Blitz Belts teamed up with Reardon to launch the exclusive Enjoy The Journey belt.
The primarily black belt features tiny rainbows along the backside and the slogan “Enjoy The Journey” in white letters on the strap.
- “‘Enjoy The Journey’ is a phrase I’ve used my entire competitive career to remind myself that if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing and who you are, you’re not going to be happy or successful,” explained Lewis-Reardon.
The motto isn’t just about the journey of going from everyday affiliate athlete to Games-level competitor, she says. It’s also a nod to her journey of coming into herself—and out as—a gay woman.
For her, the journey also includes coming to terms with and accepting her lesbian identity, and then becoming one of the most out and out-spoken queer people in the CrossFit community.
The details: Available in four different sizes and reasonably priced ($65.00USD), this release is a sound investment for anyone in the market for a new lifting belt.
This particular lifting belt, however, does more than just support your trunk and spine. No matter your identity, the belt also broadcasts your support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Walking into a CrossFit box and seeing the rainbow belt communicates to any person in the LGTBQ+ community, as well as those currently questioning and exploring their identity, that they are welcome.
Yes, it really can have that much power.
- “For the most part, my experience being out in the CrossFit community has been really supported,” said Lewis-Reardon.
But she notes that given the sport’s religious roots, in her early days participating in the sport, it was powerful for her to walk into a box and see pride insignia.
- “It re-affirmed that I’d be welcome,” she said.
Her hope is that the “Enjoy The Journey” belt will offer a similar comfort, as well as the new and long-time LGBTQ+ CrossFit athletes who see their peers put it on.
- “I want the belt to communicate: You are supported and you are loved,” Lewis-Reardon concluded.
And, purchasing the “Enjoy The Journey” belt does more than just provide visibility.
A portion of the proceeds from the belt go to the Ali Forney Center, which is an NYC-based non-profit that provides housing and support to homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
