I’m a big fan of Vans, Converse and sneakers that can be “dressed up” so that I never have to wear uncomfortable shoes again. So when I saw the Rec Trainer launch from NOBULL, I said wow I feel like I’m being targeted. Naturally I had to try them,

Seeing Justin Medeiros and Katrin posting with them and highlighting that they are a versatile, all-day training shoe I was surprised to know I could wear them for workouts as well. So I did just that and tested them for a workout and wore them around for a week. Here are my key takeaways.

I didn’t even have to break them in. Normally when I get an everyday sneaker, they are stiff at the start and I have to break them in for a bit before they start to be comfortable. These were comfy right off the rip and bendy.

Wide toe box for optimal comfort. As someone with a wider foot, I’m stoked when I see that in a shoe description. I felt like I could wear them all day because I don’t feel my toes crushing together.

Easy slip on and off. The knit upper part of the shoe reminds me of their knit trainers, but with a lot more stability throughout the shoe. I like when I can pop my training shoe on and off easily so I don’t take a ton of time changing in and out of lifters.

Very light and breathable. I can tell these won’t be the shoes that are soaking wet a few hours later if I put them back on post-workout. They are extremely light and I’m loving them for the hottest part of the summer.

The bottom line: the Rec Trainer is worth the investment. It’s a quality shoe that will hold up and you can use it not only in the gym but in your everyday life. I love all the colors and it was hard to choose a favorite, so you should just get all of them.
