As expected, we are currently witnessing a great battle between Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Laura Horvath at this year’s Rogue Invitational, with only five points separating the two from each other on the leaderboard after three events.

Both athletes have all three event finishes inside the top five (the only women to do so), along with a event win each.

What’s Been Going On

Tia exploded back into competition with a win in Event 1: “Texas Heavy” while Horvath took fourth. From there Horvath had a great second place finish in Event 2 “Seat at the Bar” and then completely dominated in Event 3: “The Circus” where she finished by over 30 seconds (5% faster) than Toomey-Orr.

Tia’s only finish outside of the top two came in event 2 where she finished fifth, which can hardly be called a bad finish at all.

At the end of Day Two, Laura Horvath currently leads the Rogue Invitational Leaderboard with 280 points and Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr trails by only five points at 275.

What’s To Come

The next two events begin with a workout that either of them can easily win and we expect the margin of victory to be extremely slim.

Event 4: 10th Inning

  • 4 Ring MU
  • 8 HSPU
  • 12 Power Snatch (95/65)

After that we can’t wait to see what Event 5: “The Duel III” has in store for us. It will feature a bracket-style competition with movements involving going over and under a log and moving sandbags.

Final Thoughts

The 2023 Rogue Invitational still has two days to go and we’re glad to say it has already lived up to the hype. With six events to go, it’s still very much anybody’s game.
