TYR announced today that they are returning to Gymreapers Wodapalooza as the Official Footwear Sponsor at both the upcoming Gymreapers Wodapalooza SoCal in Huntington Beach, CA, and Gymreapers Wodapalooza in Miami next March.

Remind Me

From 2022 to 2025, TYR was Wodapalooza’s title sponsor.

Then, last season, the title sponsorship changed hands, with Gymreapers taking over as the title sponsor for both Wodapalooza SoCal and next year’s Miami event.

Though not the title sponsor anymore, Corey Berger, TYR’s Director of Business Development and a two-time CrossFit Games team athlete, insists their commitment to both WZA and the greater CrossFit community has never wavered since the world-renowned swim brand began investing in CrossFit in 2021.

  • “CrossFit is very important to us, and we’re still making strong investments,” said Berger, adding that the company also supports CrossFit affiliates by providing them incentives, such as discounts and early access to products, to become part of the TYR family.

One Big Thing

Today, TYR has a roster of 30 sponsored CrossFit Games athletes, including 20 individual athletes — one-third of the total men’s and women’s fields at the recent Games, where TYR served as the official swim sponsor — and two masters athletes: Travis Meyer and Rudy Berger.

Not only that, but 50 percent of the top 10 men and women in San Jose, CA, last month were TYR athletes.

Worth noting: The moment the community learned about the 7.2-kilometer trail run at the Ranch during the Games, TYR got to work designing a trail shoe specifically for their competing athletes.

  • The shoe didn’t even have a name, and Berger said TYR isn’t sure whether they’ll commercialize it. Designing a one-off new shoe in just seven days for one specific event shows TYR’s level of commitment to their athletes and the sport.

The Big Picture

Five years ago, TYR entered the CrossFit space in a big way, and it’s safe to say that, despite the undeniable uncertainties the sport has faced in recent years, TYR remains as committed as ever to Wodapalooza, its athletes, CrossFit affiliates, and the community at large.

  • “Having run a gym myself, and seeing how well the community has received us, we want to make sure we continue to focus on this ecosystem and continue to build and innovate,” Berger said.
