The 2021 season brought a host of changes to the CrossFit Games, not least of which was the switch in the team competition format back to a more affiliate centric model, and one befitting of the Affiliate Cup name.
The announcement of the changes left many prospective team athletes and gyms scrambling to field a competitive roster under the new guidelines. Amidst the chaos CrossFit Mayhem looks primed to take home yet another title, but a handful of international teams are hoping to capitalize on the moment and break a drought that almost doesn’t seem real at first glance.
