CrossFit Games athlete Emma Cary has a busy season ahead. Not just with training, but with her life personally, academically and professionally. At the start of the New Year, the 17-year-old will begin the 2022 Games season with a different zip code and a full-time athlete now that she graduated early from high school.

After spending Cary’s entire CrossFit career training in her hometown of Marshfield, Missouri, she’s now headed to the sunshine state to train in Naples, Florida under her coach, Matt Torres, co-owner of CrossFit Naples and head coach with Brute Strength Training. The move comes shortly after Cary graduates high school in December and transitions from a student-athlete, to a full-time athlete.

“I’ve balanced everything the best that I could and I’m so excited to not have to do that anymore. I think it will be very freeing because right now I feel like every minute of my life is spent either training, eating, sleeping or doing homework and I don’t think that’s very sustainable. To be able to actually chase this dream with truly all of me and not just the part of me that I have left will be a game-changer for me.”
