Coach, Business Owner and Athlete Elliot Simmonds Overcomes Injury, Preps for Dubai

Just over a month prior to 2022’s Strength in Depth Semifinal, Elliot Simmonds tore a ligament in his back.
He couldn’t walk, couldn’t sit down but was determined to compete, just as he had been doing since 2014. He showed up to the competition not having trained for six weeks and gutted it out, barely missing a qualifying spot.
His season over, he returned home and resumed his training where, within the first week back, he felt a “twinge” in his core that eventually resulted in him not only not being able to train, but not being able to sit up or move without pain.
