What History Tells Us About A Possible Open Repeat in 2022

Last season in the leadup to the 2021 Open, I took a “walk to remember”, sans Mandy Moore, through the Open history to narrow down the list of possible repeat workouts in store. With the 2022 edition less than a week away, it’s time to dust off the trusty history book again and see what this year could potentially have in store if the trend of repeats continues in year 12. 

But first, a victory lap: Last season using my double secret probation level reasoning, I was able to deduce five workouts that fit within the historical trends making them a viable candidate. Lo and behold, one of my final five was ultimately chosen as 17.1 became 21.2. My reward? Thrashed spinal erectors, a sweet dance montage, and a lost bet resulting in me eating a raw onion doused in hot sauce
