Good morning and welcome to the Morning Chalk Up semifinals edition. Day three of the CrossFit Fittest in Cape Town is underway and the third day of the Mid-Atlantic CrossFit Challenge is about to begin. Here’s what you need to know.

MID-ATLANTIC CROSSFIT CHALLENGE
|

Moving day is over at the MACC and we are heading into the final two events here on Day 3. Saxon Panchik has extended his lead, while veteran Cole Sager moved into a qualifying position with Noah Ohlsen only 2 points out. Sydney Michalyshen, an individual Games rookie last year, takes the lead into the final day, with veterans Danielle Brandon and Brooke Wells both in qualifying spots to start the day. On the team side, Mayhem Independence is in the driver’s seat with three events wins so far.

FITTEST IN CAPE TOWN
|

We are halfway through the final day at the Fittest in Cape Town (depending on when you are opening this) and the competition is hot and heavy with only one Games spot on the line for each division. At the end of Day 2, Jason Smith holds onto the lead, eight points ahead of Kealan Henry, while the two Michelles, Merand and Basnett are locked in a tie. CrossFit Commit Okavango holds on to the lead among the teams, but it is only 5 points.
