TYR WODAPALOOZA/DAY 4 LAY OF THE LAND
|
|
|
|
Saturday dawned at Bayfront Park with heat and humidity on tap for the day and the potential for rain to return in the afternoon.
The Elite Teams took on an off-site workout, “Bike Race,” to kick off competition before returning to the venue for “Worms Can’t Swim” at Bayside, finishing off the day at Flagler under the lights, for “Uno. Dos. Tres.”
Community members, including individuals, teams, adaptive, masters, and gauntlet athletes continued their competition into the weekend.
It’s a tight race at the top of the Women’s Elite Team leaderboard, with some surprise teams on top, including RX Performance in first (made up of Antonia Falt-Kottulinsky, Maria Langfors, and Camilla Salomonsson Hellman) and Lycan Gang (featuring Laura Sanchez, Maria Quintero, and Dayana Vicentelli) in second.
On the men’s side, the Two-time Fittest Man, Justin Medeiros’ Team GOWOD with Jay Crouch and Willy Georges holds a slight, four-point lead over Team PICSIL featuring Roman Khrennikov, Saxon Panchik, and Jorge Fernandez, all from CrossFit Mayhem.
One big number: 1 – One event placement means the difference between first and second on the Men’s Elite Team leaderboard. On Day 1, Team GOWOD took a first, second, and third, while Team PICSIL took a first, third, and third.
For the statisticians:
How to stay in the know:
Today’s top stories: Stay up to date on key stories as they develop.
One last thing: With one final day of competition, it’s anyone’s game at the top of the team leaderboards. Only 32 total points separate the top four teams on the women’s side, 44 separate the top four for the men. With three events on tap for Sunday and more rain in the forecast, anything can happen.
