Equipment List for the 2022 CrossFit Open

The 11th iteration of the CrossFit Open kicks off February 24 for three weeks of competition. For most of us, the largest community fitness event in the world is the final stop in the CrossFit Games season calendar, but for the most elite athletes, the Open is just the beginning.

Regardless of your fitness level, CrossFit has released a complete equipment list so athletes and affiliates can prepare for what they’ll need to take on the Open.

  • Feb 24 – 28 – Open week 1
  • Mar 3 – 7 – Open week 2
  • Mar 10 – 14 – Open week 3

Below is a specific list of equipment needs for each division.

Equipment for RX and Scaled Athletes: Download PDF

  • Rx’d: One 50/35-lb dumbbell
  • Scaled: One 35/20-lb dumbbell
  • Scaled: One 20/10-lb dumbbell (ages 14-15 and 55+)
  • One 45/35-lb barbell
  • Standard bumper plates and collars
  • 24/20-inch box with at least 15×15-inch top surface
  • Pull-up bar that allows for all common hanging movements and kipping
  • One jump rope
  • Open wall space

Equipment for Age Group Athletes: Download PDF

  • One 50/35-lb dumbbell (ages 16-17 and 35-54)
  • One 35/20-lb dumbbell (ages 14-15 and 55+)
  • One 20/10-lb dumbbell (scaled athletes ages 14-15 and 55+)
  • One 45/35-lb barbell
  • Standard bumper plates and collars
  • 24/20-inch box with at least 15×15-inch top surface
  • Pull-up bar that allows for all common hanging movements and kipping
  • One jump rope
  • Open wall space

Equipment for Adaptive Divisions: Download PDF

  • Weights vary by division
  • One 45/35-lb barbell
  • Standard bumper plates and collars
  • 24/20-inch box with at least 15×15-inch top surface
  • Pull-up bar that allows for all common hanging movements and kipping
  • One jump rope (some divisions)
  • Open wall space
  • One set of rings (some divisions)
